Photography Challenges

"Cameras and computers are power hungry, particularly in the cold. Our base camp was stationary, so I used our generator to recharge batteries. Had we been staying away from base camp for days, a solar charging system would have been necessary. And, because we covered a lot of ground on foot, how much could I carry was a daily consideration. Along with my camera equipment, I needed to carry food, water, extra clothing and safety gear. The Arctic is already physically demanding, so too much gear leaves one tired, less responsive and step behind the action".
